OK MY MOM BOUGHT A 98 CAVILIER FROM A FRIEND, THE FRIENDS SON WAS PISSED OFF THAT HIS MOM SOLD HIS CAR, SO HE TOOK OUT THE READIO HE PUT IN IT AND,,, CUT THE FACTORY WIRING HARNESS! SO NOW I CANNT INSTALL A AFTERMAKET WIRE HARNESS DOES ANY 1 NO WHAT THE DIFFERT COLORS ARE

LIKE WHAT 1 IS ACC ,TURN ON LEAD, GROUND, AND THE SPEAKER WIRES?

OR WHERE CAN I FIND OUT?? THANKZ:confused:banghead:

Your best bet would be to go to a junk yard or something and get the factory radio clip, that has a few inches of the wiring on it, for that paticuliar year and splice it in. Factories like to change the colors from year to year so becareful on what you get.

Tell me if you have a test light or digital multi meter (or equivalent). Then you'll need a AA or AAA battery and we can walk you through it.

sorry no muitimeter, but i have a 12volt light i use sometimes to check power and ground connects and i have a fuse test light thingy so would i be able to use my 12volt light i got? i used in my car to see if i was getting power out of my ACC and turn on? but that was easy cus i knew what the colors were in my car but with this 1 im lost on it

If you purchase one of the books for the car at an auto parts store it should have the wiring diagram for the stereo. Sometimes it will vene have one or two different ones, but should be not much problem to walk thru and figure out which one is the right one.

Test every wire with your light. One of them should turn it on. That's your constant power. Mark it so you don't loose it. Now turn the key to ACC. test them again and another should light up. That's your switched power. mark it. Now take a AA battery and put one wire on the positive side of the battery and touch every other wire to the negative side of the battery. When you here a noise you've found a speaker. Mark it and move to another wire doing the same thing. Get back to me if you have xtra wires.

P.S. be sure when you hook up your speaker you put them in phase. Alaxan and I can help you with that too if you need.
