Irrelevant. This has nothing to do with crossovers. You do the same thing with most ribbon tweeters as well. You wire a capacitor inline with the driver to protect it from any DC bias coming from the amp.

Just dropping in a capacitor at random can cause some funky issues with phase shifts if you don't do some real good calculations. Since you're running an MS8, I assume you're running active, and if you're running an active crossover it won't be the same as it would if you're running passive, since your tweeter will be on a separate channel.
