Need help with cap setup

So I have 2 Type-R Alpine 12" subs and a Alpine MRP-M500 amp. I know the amp is too small, but I will get gettin another to run each sub off of. anyways, i decided i should get a cap. i am just getting a 1 farad rockford with the digital reader at the top. i work at bestbuy and get a great discount on it. it is like $50 instead for $150. how do i hook it up exactly with 1 amp.

If its a Rockford it should come with a charging chip. Once the cap is grounded charge it, don't directly hook it up because you might start popping fuses. When the cap is charged run a power wire to the amp from the positive terminal on the cap but make sure you ground the amp seperatly from the cap and don't run the negative wire from the cap to the amp. Everything you hook up in your trunk needs its own seperate ground.

I agree with most of what he says except the cap to power. I run 2 TA7801's and I have a 5f cap. I run the cap striaght to a distro and the 2 amps from there and havent popped a fuse yet.

I'm against caps totally, but if you gonna get one, get one thats more than 1 farad, even then, most "good" caps cost as much as a battery or the big 3(either would do soo much better than a puny 1 farad cap), so its just best to avoid them altogether IMO.
