hey guys, i'm new here and don't know alot about audio. i'm more of a mechanic. let me start by saying, i've got a 91' jeep wrangler that i'm looking to set up some audio in. not a system just some "average" audio with a small addition.
OK, i've got a console btwn my front seats that has a space for a head unit. i'm wanting to get a head unit that has an AUX input, USB, and bluetooth compatible. i want to the bluetooth so that i can stream pandora and other music from my phone without having to open the console and physically hook up to the head unit. any suggestions on what unit to go with? i dont need top of the line but not some POS either.
next, i know that with the bluetooth, that my phone conversations will play through the speakers. but how does it pick up my voice? the phones mic, does the radio have one built in, or do i need to plug in a mic? i've got a spare parrot and a moto t505 BT mic i could use for my voice receiver if thats possible ( the t505 working as mic only and radio working for speakers, i guess they would all have to be connected together?)
my biggest concern being in a jeep is road noise on the mic, not the speakers. i'm afraid if the head unit has a built in mic, or if i had to rely on a mic that i couldnt put in front of my face that the wind would be too much ( top down doors off ). brings me to my next question.
could i plug in a cb type mic to the head unit and use it as my mic? that way i could put it right up to my mouth, but still have the benefit of listening through the speakers.
LASTLY. with the radio in my console, i want to put a CB in my dash. how can i make the CB play through the jeep's speakers not through the CB unit? also, could i wire it so that the cb mic could work for both my CB use and for the phone mic? there's a cobra unit where the mic has built in blue tooth to work as your phone mic. but i'd need it to pair and connect to the radio and my phone i think.
thanks for any help and sorry for the long post. and try to keep it simple if possible, i understand this isn't simple, but i'm not going to know a lot of technical jargon here
