Need help with amplifier set-up

Hi guys. I was wondering if I could get some help with a few questions I have.

Id really appreciate it!

1. My Pioneer deck is a 5V pre-out model. I have rcas running from the deck on the subwoofer out, to my mono amp running my subs. Does this mean I must also set my "LEVEL" setting at 5V ? The level setting goes from 8V to 0.3V

2. Now I have these setting on my mono amp. Im trying to set the gains. What would be considered the "input sensitivity" of these settings? I know on my old JL500.1's, I needed to turn the "input sensitivity" to zero and "input voltage" to low. But this is a different brand of amp. This is what I have shown on mine:

1. LEVEL 8V ~ 0.3V

2. SUB SONIC FILTER 20Hz ~ 55Hz

3. LP FREQ 40Hz ~ 300Hz

4. BASS BOOST 0db ~ +12db (Im leaving this at zero)

5. BASS FREQ 30Hz ~ 65Hz

Thanks for your help

well of course //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif most people on here just flame right away and yell at everybody. some of us when we know the answer, actually do what this forum is supposed to be for and actually help. even it is making them learn it by reading it first and asking about what they don't understand //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The level setting on the amp, means at x voltage input at the RCAs the amp will put out full power.
See here to set gains: http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j23/steveo200077/RMSchart.jpg

Thx for the link. However, I did already find out my final voltage previously. Around 44V. But from the knob settings on my amp, which one do I turn to increase/decrease the voltage?

Also, do I set my "LEVEL" to 5V automatically since my deck is a 5V pre-out ?

Thanks

I normally use the 75% volume rule when setting my gains via the DMM/test tone method. Crank the volume to 75% with the appropriate test tone, then set the gain on the amp to the desired voltage output I am looking for.

As for using the markings on the amp to match your head unit.... Those markings on your amp for the input voltage settings are about as accurate as Stevie Wonder with a high powered rifle trying to hit a target 600 meters away!

Thanks for reminding me that I need to get a handheld oscilloscope next. I am tired of dragging my suitcase sized Sencore out to the car every time I make a change.
