Need help with amp repair. Resistor blown

Well I have a resistor that is blown on my JBL. Its in my lap right now. I am trying to find a resistor to replace it. I have looked at some sites that have Resistor Color Code Calculators, but this resistor seems to be different. Looks like the color band is Brown, Black, Black, Gold, Brown

Ok, found out what the value was, searched for a 5 band calculator. Anyway the value is: 10 ohms, +/-1% anyone know where I can find a resistor with that value?

Radio Shack?? Its the only place local. Guess Ill just have to go check and see

Google for it.

Radioshack has *some* resistors, but everything is overpriced. I can't get out of there without handing over >$20.

Yeah I just checked their site and they appear to have them. Now only if they have them at my store. Probably not since its a Radio Shack inside a small family owned pharmacy. 1200 people in my town so there is never anything that I need here.

Well since I put it in the calculator and came out with 10 ohms, +/-1%, I dont know what the "+/-1%" means. Does that mean 1/2 watt at 1% or what? I cant seem to find the right resistor. Went to Radioshack and they are out of the 10 ohms, 1/2 watt one... Any help at all?

and the +/- 1% means it has a tolerance of +1% or -1% its pretty much how tight it holds to spec

Yeah I found a few sites that had them, but now that I have taken the resistor out, its not the value what I thought. Right now I am on a hunt for a picture of the guts on my amp, but a closeup. Searching for someone who has a BP1200.1 that would be kind enough to help me out.

Your best bet would be to talk to JBL, a lot of the time, these companies use supplies manufactured specifically for the board it is going on, so you may not be able to find out exactly what specs it has unless you get the info from them.
