I put this in the enclosure design & construction help thread because it is mostly about the box I will be building, but I also have some other questions.

Ok I am looking to install my 3 10" l7's with my visonik v4000xd in a 91 grand prix sedan.(all equiptment besides the yellow top is in my possesion)

First question: Will my electrical system sufice for now with a stock alternator(105 amp), big 3 done with 2/0 welding wire, and 2/0 from the battery back to a yellow top battery in the trunk if I run it at 1800 watts at 2.67 ohms?

I will be upgrading the alternator in the future I just don't have the funds right now (just starting a new job).

Second question: I am working with limited space and my max dimensions (38"W x 14"H x 30"D) don't give me too many options.

The first box I came up with was around 5.2'^3 after sub and port displacement, but the port would have to run accross the bottom of the whole box. Would having the port so long and narrow (2.25" x 36.5") cause me port noise? The second box I came up with is a little smaller and would be side ported with a 6.5" x 12.5" port with around 4.4'^3 after sub and port displacement. The subs basically HAVE to face forward because when the box is in it will almost seal the trunk off completely with how big I need it. So should I go for subs and port forward (risking port noise) or should I go subs forward and the port to the side and lose some internal volume?

Third question: If I use the first box will the narrow 82"^2, will there be enough area for the 3 l7's or if I go the other route will the more proportionate 81.25"^2 be better even though I lose almost a cubic foot of internal volume? If neither will be enough area the port for the second box is adjustable because width is not limited but the wider it goes the more internal volume I lose.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Even a whole new concept for a box is invited.
