Need help where to mount amp

I just ordered a kicker zx750.1 mono amp in the mail. I have my subs in my backseat and im trying to put my amp in my trunk. But can i just mount the amp on a piece of MDF wood then mount the wood in the trunk. Or should i put some enclosure carpet on the MDF wood first. Im worried my amp might get too hot and catch on fire. Any suggestions would be great

the amp will be fine on a piece of mdf, honetly dont see it getting any hotter covered or uncovered, just put it out of the way if ur gona have other stuff around it in ur trunk.

carpet won't catch fire and it looks better. I'm concerned about your subs being on the backseat tho. How are they secured? if you stop hard the sub box could become a large, dangerous projectile that could hurt someone

Yea but im scared someone might see it break in and steal it. I got my trunk rigged where you have to have the key to get in it. But that would look bad as hell

You know those straps that are in the beds of pickups. The rubber ones that have a hook on both ends. I got one of those that is not to small or to big holding the subs enclosure to the back of my back seats. It is pretty secure the hooks dont come unhooked but you have a point maybe i should put 2 straps. I decided to put it in my backseat cuz noone sits there and i hate trunk rattle. I have actually not put the subs back there yet cuz there is no point for me taking the chance of getting jacked until my amps here

put the subs in the trunk and just let the backseats down when you bump. Then you won't hear rattle and no one will be able to see your stuff cause its in the trunk. I mean if you're so worried about your stuff getting jacked why wouldn't u put it in the most secure place: the trunk

Yea but see where i want to put them in the trunk i have 33 3/4 inches to work w/ the sub enclosure is 34 1/4 inch. But ill see if it will fit in the trunk tomorrow

They didnt fit in the trunk i cracked a piece of the wood trying to put it in there but its cool cuz its just the trim piece
