Need help w/floor firing design

I'm finally getting around to upgrading my previous floor firing boxes in my extended cab pickup (fiberglass and sealed). The old ones ended up be only about 0.7cuft. They sounded ok but while working on them I put the subs in a 1cuft box and the sound had much more depth. The new design gets me right around 1.25cuft.

I'm stuck with how to design the feet in order to let the subs breathe. Right now the way the box is cut puts the sub about 4" off the floor and slightly canted out. The only opening to air is forward because the box makes a horseshoe shaped foot around the sub. Would there be any benefit to sacrafice box volume in order to get a box that has 4 feet but allows the sub to breathe in all directions?
