Need help tuning my Kenwood KAC-9104D Amp

Hey,

A few months ago I bought a sound system for my car, it didnt come in a bundle or anything lol, I picked everything out myself, but this is what I have:

12' JL Audio W6 Sub

Kenwood KAC-9104D Amp

Pioneer 5100 Head Unit

1 Farrad Digital Rockford Fosgate Capacitor

4 guage Rockford Fosgate wireing

Everything was bought brand new.

I need some help tuning my amp, when I look at the back of it, I dont know what im doing. I listen to techno/trance music, and thats basically it. If anybody needs a pic of the settings the amp has, please let me know.

lol I was told it was a good amp by a friend, got it from bestbuy for $300 cause i didnt feel like going online and waiting for an amp to come.

That amp is junk( and i actually like Kenwood), get your money back. Do some research and get another amp.

You didn't mention what kind of box you're using (sealed/ported/bandpass/other) so that makes it a little more difficult but I would say set the subsonic to 15hz if you're using a sealed box/25hz if using a ported box, low pass x-over set to 80-90hz (just a guideline, highly dependent on your front speakers) bass boost off (or at 0db). Start there and tweak crossover till it sounds best to you. A small amount of boost might be okay depending on the box and your preferences.

just ask for a store manager and tell them the guy lied to you about the amp, say he said it puts out more power or something like that , like say he said it does peak as rms w/e and it wont work for what you wanted cuz you planned on buying a 2nd sub ect.... they will refund it if you make a big deal out of it.

X2, the customer is always right. If you're a "pushover" be prepared to keep the amp. FYI
