Need help tuning a amplifier.

I am trying to set the input sensitivity I did use the right cd. Sine wave at 0db 50hz turned up 3/4 of the way. I only seem to be getting 16.2 V AC out of the amp when I test it? What am I doing wrong? I disconnected the wire from the sub side. its still connected to the amp. Whats going on here?

Also what would happen if I connected the - wire to the positive and positive to the neg while running the speaker wire to the speaker box from the amp?

Sorry newb ? but my last system was a Sony....

Dont mix positive and negative. Are you running one sub, or two? Do you have them bridged? What do you have your other settings on, such as the lpf and hpf? Check to see if its on hpf.

Ok did that for some reason My max Ac voltage is comming up as 25.38 the input sensitivity doesnt go any higher and Im supposed to take it up to 31.6 V

The setting on my HU was +5 for bass and that reading came up otherwise right now Im not gettign shit

you are taking your measurements with the speaker disconnected aren't you?????

Correct sir Disconnected from the speaker side the wire is connected on the amps side. It is a stock HU. I had nice readings with the bass turned up from the HU but as soon as that goes to zero my max reading is like 15-16 watts

pour a cup of water on your amp. if it arcs out and takes a shtt, then it was working fine.
