Need help to build a system

theres no link ,you just unbolt the back seat take one of the bolts to home depot get some longer bolts ,and find or have something made ,should be 4 pieces for the seat legs to rest on .i've seen people use aluminum blocks .like lift kit blocks but thinner.

Its say do that.do you have an amp already? Is say just get two memphis pr 12s.only 100 each and ain't too bad.or else get two dd 500 series.

The bolts on mine (2003 F350), are welded to the brackets on the seat side. There are four nuts holding them down. What I did was to drill two holes almost two inches forward.......this caused the front two bolts to sit just in front of the lower bracket. I did not use the nuts here. Brings up why I did not raise the seat.....the permanently attached bolts are not long enough. It would be possible to cut them out, drill new holes, but I found enough room for what I wanted to install without doing all that.

How woul I take out the bolts? Because I know there's 4 nuts holding it down and the bolts are permant? Would I have to cut them and install new bolts?

they should just come out with a 19 mm socket or a torx bit .the last one i did was using torx screws, we took them out ,got longer bolts from home depot and we used some aluminum plates to raise the seat 3 " screwed the new bolts down and done .built a box with 2 10's ported firing forward under the rear seat.just remember if you are still going to use the seat you may have to raise the seat belt too,but you can use a sleeve for that .

Mine would not come out......I am sure Ford has made them all different ways. If you want to raise the seat any more than about two inches, the existing bolts will not be in the way anyway. Just drill new holes on the seat bracket (about 1 1/2 inch behind before you jack the seat up with whatever you are using......at least in my F350, the space is not missed at all.

I wanted to mount the amps on a rack behind the seat at first, but the 2003 f350 is very limited on space under the seat.....so I went the reverse of that originally idea. The way the seat is made.....the amps fit right up in the seat frame. Virtually impossible to get to without taking the back seat out. I like that because it is not a neat, quick package for the thieves.....

The sub box is 9 1/2 inches at the bottom and provides approximately 1.1 cubic feet per sub. I am planning on using 3/4 " spacers to get all the volume I can and change out the cvt's to something better in the future. Behind the seat is all I could figure for subs in my truck....except for a sub in box that is no more than 4" deep by about 12". That would really limit things. Raising thee seat would also limit my vision out the back. My seat is already two inches up the rear window.

Can you send me pics of your build and how you moved the seat forward. And also do you remember the dimensions of your sub box?

What you will find if you look around online is that each year and model of the Fords are different....the pictures in posy #19 above show what I did to move the seat forward. It is very likely your seat is not the same, so you will have to make a plan and do it.

I found the sub box at a pawn shop, measured it and moved my seat accordingly. I installed the grills because it is a tight fit even after moving the seat forward. I did not want the subs rubbing the back of the seat.

I do not have detailed pictures of the entire install.....but I did not overcomplicate things.

With your seat leaned forward, measure to see what WILL fit. If you are going to have it custom made....no problem. See if you can order one that will fit if that is the route you want to take. The angle, I found, is much like one of the pre-fabbed, angled sub boxes....in my case almost perfect fit. Remove that tray behind the seat and figure out how much you will have to move the seat. I used blocks to raise the sub box because of the pivot point on the seat hitting the box. Then, it was fine.
