im def. a newbie when it comes to Car audio so i need some help!

I have a 99 jeep grand cherokee (plenty of space)

I just purchased 2 Memphis M3 12's off eBay for a great deal. ($100)

this is the information i have on them :

RMS/Peak (W) 300/600

Sensitivity (dB) 92.1

Magnet Size (oz) 85

Mounting Depth (in) 6.1

it also has - Single or dual 4-ohm voice coils

i still need -

- Amp (i need to know how many watts the amp should be)

- Box (ported or sealed?? i listen to mostly rock, but also some rap)

- new Speakers (i have 2 speakers on the side doors in the front row, and 2 in the back also, and of course 2 tweeters)

and - head unit

so basically i need to know what would be good to buy but is also affordable. (but i could also look for something high-end on ebay for a low price)

ALSO in the back (trunk space) of my jeep is a 10 disc cd changer. it isnt in the way at all, but is there a way i could still use this with a new head unit??

all help would be greatly appreciated //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

not an expert but. match the rms on the subs with the rms on the amp and make sure its from a company thats dependable. as far as sealed ported goes. if you want a louder system go ported and if you want a more quality sound go sealed.

my alpine headunit has the abbility to hook up to a disk changer. its cda-9857 model..
The thread starter is talking about (I think) connecting a factory disc changer to an aftermarket HU. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
It will depend both upon the specific disc changer that was supplied with your Jeep and what kind of aftermarket headunit you decide to go with.

There are some adapters available to be able to make such a thing work, I believe, but again - it is going to depend on what type of changer it is and what brand/model of headunit you end up with.

Oh! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wave.gif.002382ce7d7c19757ab945cc69819de1.gif Welcome to the forum. Hopefully your time spent here will be enjoyed. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

but, so i would need a 600 watt amp for the two subs?

and also the head unit i wanted to get is an Alpine CDE-9881 ($200)
