Please help. I just took my comp amp out in order to rewire for my sub and sub amp.
When I put it back in, I get speaker pop and almost no sound out of the speakers. When I turn the car on (fully or just ACC, no difference), I get a pop. When I turn it off, pop. It also happens when I change the radio station (too scared to check anything else though).
The sound is also very muffled. If I put it on a radio station the voices are very low and distorted.
Before the pop (when I turn on/off only) there is also a hiss and the speaker cone gets pulled in.
I checked the wiring as best as I could and I see no problems.
The only bad thing I did during today's install is I accidentally disconnected and reconnected the power wire at the distro block while the neg. battery terminal was still on and the wasn't a ground on the amp. There was a large spark. Hopefully the amp is still alright.
Any suggestions?
I've checked my ground at leae 3 time...no luck.
I've tried pretty much everything shy of swapping out the amp (mainly because I don't have another one).
I can't see anything wrong at all, this is freaking ridiculous. Maybe it's something caused by the head unit?
