need help, something is wrong...

well i took out my box and amp today, rewired it, but it seems like the sub is getting surges of power or something, like it can be at low volume and then all of a sudden a bunch of random sound comes out and when its up loud it sound real rough like something is wrong.

im runnin 1/0 and my amp is seeing .6 ohm if that helps

its not the ground, i re-did it like 5 times tonight thinking that was it. when i move the power wire it does it, but if i unhook the rca's it completely stops, and i cant get it to do it even with moving the power cable.

edit: bonnie beat me to it.

but im pretty sure that may be the issue. check them and the rca inputs on your amp. they may be screwed up

that is what my dad thinks, but i cant figure out why the power wire would make it do that, but when i take out the rca's it stops, if it were the power wire terminal that was the problem, would it still do that when the rca's are removed?

the rca's provide the "sound" to the sub... if you dont have them in, the sub should not move.

If the rca's are bad or if the rca inputs on the amp are bad, it could cause the sub to seem like there is a jump in power.

if you take the rca's off and put them back on while the sub is playing, it will do that aswell, thats why i think that the rca's may be a problem. they could be loose on the inputs, or could just be bad.

why would moving the power wire cause the sub to act like that though, they are on opposite sides of my truck...

the power wire should not have anything to do with the sub moving, all the power wire does is provide power to the amp. if you have a loose connection on the power wire then it may cause that possibly?

i dont know, i know its one of those two things, i took the power wire out, re-stripped it and put it back in and it seemed to of helped, but then it started again, tomorrow im going to take the amp out and open it up to see if i can see anything.
