Need help sealing off trunk.

Think about it, a trunk rattle/flexing is lost energy in the form of sound that could rather be used in the cab.

2x....Op you should invest in Acoustic dampning. Someing good like damp Pro or dynamat. . . That would be better then just filling in some holes. . .

I want to get rid of those rattles from the back and also want to be louder. I could get some deadener online but the whole reason I'm doing this is because there is a sound comp on june 13. And I won't have the deadener in time. I sealed it off pretty good around the box with expanding foam (great stuff brand).

I also am using a ported box.

Alright I hooked everything back up and listened to it. It shakes the hell out of my car. You feel the bass more when it hits. But I don't think it sounds as loud as it did before. The bass sounds low and deeper. With the same box.

I tried some songs that I play to show off people my system. They didn't sound as loud as they did before. Maybe the tuning frequency of the car changed.

I don't know what to do. At first when I played one of the songs I usually play. I just thought to take the whole box out and turn it around again. But then I played some lower songs that I normally don't play. Because they weren't loud. Now they are somewhat loud. Its weird. I might have to find new songs to play.

car's tuning frequency is probably higher. try some different songs and see what is loudest now. or get on a meter and see what your new peak frequency is and go from there.

I thought the car's tuning frequency would have went down because the lows sound louder. And there are no meters around my town. I have to drive far away to get metered. My box is tuned to 40hz by the way.

yea your tuning frequency has changed actually it went higher where you was prolly peaking at 52 your prolly at 54 now. they change when you move the box but not by much unless you build a new box an change directions then it will.

I peaked at 49hz before. Is there any bass in music that actually is higher then that? Could I someone tell me some songs if there is please. Thanks.

All of my trunk sealing has lowered my peak from 47 a lil over 2 yrs ago to 40 now.
