yea i think that amp is smoked honestly after seeing the pics. I highly doubt it has been repaired yet, good luck with the amp, youll probably have to send it to Memphis to get it fixed unless the seller will take it back. But if you send it to Memphis make sure you put your name on the heatsink, when I returned 2 of my amps they both came back with shittier headsinks, mine were nice and I got ones with corrosion inbetween the fins(older ST style amps), good luck---Dinty

that amp has seen better days. you can tell that the filter caps have over heated and the plastic on the top is either shrunk from heat or the cap is gone. some of the resistor going to the power transistors have heated up to the point where they have burnt the pcb. i would most defenetly return it to the seller for a full refund.

good luck bro.

i know its kinda beating a dead horse, but how do i check the RCAs with a DMM? what kind of signal am i looking for?

just don't want to leave anything out.

to check for a signal on the RCAs with a DMM. all you do is set the DMM to a/c reading and play some music or test tones. it will give you an alternating readings while playing music, and a steady value while playing testones. if playing a test tone IMO to get an accurate reading you should play a 60Hz sine wave. since thats the freq that the dmm was designed to read most acurate. but all you really need to know is if there is a voltage swing on the rca's.

x2, put one probes on the male part and put the other probe on the outside outer ring

cool, definitely good to know info, thanks for the insight on that guys //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

ok, i put the + DMM probe on the red male probe for the RCAs, and the - DMM probe on a solid ground.

playing music it just alternated back and forth between .02 and .03 volts...does that mean i'm not getting a signal?

i've got another H/U coming to test it on...
