naw no sound from the sub, but the car isn't on so I dont see how it could be alt noise. Thanks for all the help though I really appreciate it.

I dunno it's working now, but the gain has to be waaaaaay up. Still a lot of tweaking to do to see if it's all working right. I'm getting really sick of taking the sub in and out of the box cuz that ***** is HEAVY!!!!

Yeah but my HU has 5 volt pre outs. I'm not even sure how it got to working. I know a fair amount and can usually troubleshoot my problems but this one had me stumped. So I took it to the shop and my buddy chad who's been doin this shit for about 10 years took a look at it. He was fiddlin around in the trunk with this weird lookin tool I've never seen before and finally he got it workin. But with the bass at 0 on the HU and the gain at less then 3/4 on the amp, the bass was next to nothing. But with the bass on 11 on the HU and the gain almost all the way up it pounds. Haven't tried setting the gain properly to 50 volts yet but I'm gonna try today and see if it reads out right.

I had the same problem with my hifonics amp; turned out that the way my amp was mounted it was touching the same metal as the ground and would blow a fuse everytime i turned it on.

That's a weird situation. My amps sitting on the carpet of my trunk only though.

mine has never done anything even close to that. im almost sure you hurt it when your wires touched and went boom!

did you put the power/ground wires in the right spot, i know someone had the same problem and hooked it all up to the amp wrong.

****ing paying them 250 bucks thats almost as much as i payed for the **** thing. it's powering a dual 2 sub though at 1 ohm.

i power my orion to an old school, dd 9515b, dual 2 and it causes me headaches to the point where i keep spending more money to make it louder.
