Need Help...quick question

I built a sub ported enclosure in trunk for 2 15" T3 TSS's. The box is 8 cu. ft. net and with the port being in the middle of the subs(firing into trunk of course).

Problem is that somehow the top pieces on BOTH sides of the port walls have separated from the top piece of wood in my box. So now everytime the bass hits the top piece slaps the both port walls making a nasty noise. How could i fix this? Open to any and all idea's....glue..concrete...fiberglass....anything besides rebuilding the box lol.

i thought i did this box correctly...dragged it out as long as i could...even glass all the joints. No other part of the box flex's besides the top where the port disconnected from the top. I'm thinking though that i didn't put glass around the port wall joints. If i do as you say and do like 3 layers of glass and mat you think it'll hold?

IMO, no need for fb and resin in a wooden box.

did you use woodglue(enough) the first time around?

I put more on this box than any other i have before. But what im thinking was since there's like .5" between the top of the box and the top of the trunk now is that when i was putting the top piece in maybe it scrapped some glue off if you can get the picture.

And yeh i know there's no need i just did it because i built this box with the intent of NEVER taking it out unless i went to a wall, so i wanted it to be as strong as possible.

Either you used a relatively weak water-resistant glue, or you didn't use enough glue.

Just glue and screw it.

Use L-bracket's and screw them down and use plenty of loctite like this. That's what I did, and never had any problems. When I ripped this thing out, the wood broke and the joint was still in tact (Used a sledge hammer).

well did my best to squeeze glue into it and added 2 L brackets....Hoping that it works...will know in the morning ....
