Need help picking out some stuff.

Whats up Peeps, I've been lurking for a while, but I am finally posting something.

So here's the deal. I currently have a budget of about $400.

I can get a brand spankin' new amplifier (Audiopipe AP1500D) for $100.

So ultimately that leaves $300 for subs/box combo. I've had 2x 10" Alpine Type-R's in a vented box in the past and it was great. I play lots of older reggae music so the speakers would have to be able to play up to 150hz... (I was looking at Kicker L5's but saw that they play 18-100hz, so I wasn't sure.)

Let me know what you guys think... I have an 04-08 body Acura TL in case that matters.

Maybe a pair of 10" comps in a sealed box? Plus sealed wont be as boomy as ported

I think your crossover points are a little off. You should be able to use your mids to pick up a large part of that upper end you are looking for. Having the sub stage playing from around 60(ish) and lower is about average/normal.

They probably are, I'm not an expert so thats why I came here for a bit of help.

Although, I did find 2 Kicker L5's in an original Kicker Box enclosure going for $300... (it also comes with a zx750.1 amp but I heard the cutoff on it is 50hz) is this a good buy? At the local pawn shop. Obviously I'm going to be utilizing the 1500D to power the subs and not the 750...

I'm really leaning towards a L7 with a kicker vented enclosure or something... anyone can chime in on this?

Alright. So I wanted to check with anyone to see if this is a good deal.

I found 2 12'' Kicker CVX's and a ZX 1000.1d amp for $500 (which includes the wiring for my car since i don't have my car wired)

is this a good deal? I heard the CVX hits hard...

With your budget and your listening taste, I would do one sub in a prpoerly built enclosure, here is a good recommendation.

Thanks for your input. I'm really leaning towards the 2x 12 CVX's in the ported box... yeah I listen to reggae, but I didn't want it to be a deciding factor.

Will a Kicker ZX1000 be enough power for the 2 12 CVX's?
