Hope this post is in the correct location.
I have a stock 2016 Honda Civic EX Sedan. It has the 4 stock 6.5in speakers (no sub) running off the stock head unit.
I am very new to car audio, but I know I want to swap the 4 speakers, add an amp and add a sub in the trunk.
I am going to have a good local audio shop do the installation, but I would like to buy the parts myself to cut costs and ensure I am getting a good setup for the price.
I listen to mainly to EDM, chillhop, rap and other bass-heavy music at mid-to-low volumes. Currently my system has pretty good punch for being OEM, but lacks low-end and the highs can be piercing. Definitely looking for something warmer and with more bass - but I'm not looking for it to be very loud and definitely am not trying to have people hear my music when my windows are rolled up at a stop light.
Ideal budget is $1000 total for the system. But that is assuming a 3 hour install at $80/hr so $240 in labor which leaves $760 for components and wire (not really sure how long an install takes?).
I have been suggested the HERTZ HCX 165s for the 4 speakers, and I know I want the whole system ran off a single amp, but I'm not sure which amp. I also know I want a 10 in ported sub, about the same size as this one - but I don't know if this is a good choice for this system.
Hope this was enough information. Any help is greatly appreciated!
