Need help on picking amp

Ok, I am new at this so please explain things to me. My friend just got 3 MTX thunder 4000 series (Kinda oldish but awesome subs) subs. He had got a Power Acoustic 820 watt amp with them and it blew in the first 5 min of playing music. A capacitor bulged and one of the chips attached to the heatsink got burnt all the way through. I believe the RMS on the three subs together is around 600 watts. We curently have a dinky 450 max Lightning audio Fast and Furious special edition amp hooked up temporarialy. He needs a new amp and ti would perferably be under or around $200. He doesn't care if it is used or new. Also, i don't know the Ohms of how the subs are wired either.
