need help on electrical info....(<<<first timer)

also...the only price i could find them at was 400 a pop...not sure if i want to spend 800 on two subs.....if i were to buy them, would i still have to buy an alternator or all of that electrical bs.

Eclipse is only available from an authorized dealer, not from Five Finger Discount Jim's Audio Horehouse. Eclipse is a premium line and yes they are pricey but OMG do they sound good and will deliver what you need.

The side benefit here is that you have dropped the demand on your alternator by 50% by using only one sub amp. Can I guarantee that you will not have a problem, no I cannot make that guarantee. A VW has a fairly small alternator, but you never know until you try it. We have numerous VW's running with similar systems and they have yet to have a problem with current delivery. The dollars that you have already spent on the two subs and one amp that you will not use should help offset the price of the subs. Keep asking the questions, the more you ask the more you will learn. If I have the time available to give to you , my advice will always be free. Should you want, my e-mail is also available, forbidden@telus.net.

k thanks for all the help...i am seriously looking into buying the eclipses...the only place i can find them is etronics.com for 400. thanks again.

I am running 2 10" Eclipse subs in a custom box powered by a RF 1001bd - and it sounds beautiful! Highly recommended subwoofer choice.

i have another question...is it possible to just use one of the amps i have to power the two subs i have. running each sub with 500 watts rms??? if not i will probably just buy the jbl amps and run 600 watts rms out of each sub.

If you have a fosgate 1001bd, then yes, you can run 1 amp to both subs, 1000 watt rms @ 2ohm load - depending on how you wire it. You will then be taking full advantage of the amp's power.
