Need help on choosing Sub+Amp Sys

Im looking to put a better sound into my car (V W Golf). the bass in it at the mo is quite good - ijust want better. Can anyone suggest the type of system i should go for?ive been looking for reviews on Subs+amps but its well confusing. Also, would it be better to buy an amp + sub separately or to get a box unit?

first off...some **** good subs that dont cost that muck r the autotek ss (on ebay for about $50) i would say get two of those. then get u a profile cl600m off ebay for about 150. there a good set up.
