Need Help on Choosing Parts for a New System

Hey all, I own a Mazda3 (s version) and have decided I need a system in it. I have about $600 to spend and would like to see if anyone could suggest a decent system for me? I am unsure what parts to purchase so if someone could help me out itd be great. I am looking to purchase a head unit with an aux input, sub(s?), amp, wiring, a pair of speakers, and install (my friend said he could install all but the amp, but it would be preferred to have a reputable store install it all if possible). Also, I dont need a box since my friend is a carpenter and can build one for me.

What is your main goal with the system?

Well, Id love to have a system that hits a decent amount and has a decent amount of SQ too. I do realize that the budget I am trying to work with is low but I am going to be giving the car to my sister in 2 years and dont want to spend too much.
