i keep blowing fuses under my hood....

i traded my jl 500/1 for a jl 1000/1 yesterday, and i have blown 5 fuses in 1 day. the first few best buy gave me, 60s and then they told me to try an 80. I blew 3 of them afterwards. I have the jlw7 sub and the fuses only blow when I do a massive bass drop or try to make the subs really pound. I went to the local jl dealer here locally and they said i needed a 100 or 300 watt fuse... is this right? why these fuses blowing? thanks guys, u always help.

Did they seriously say 100 or 300 WATT fuse?

if you have 4 guage wire look for a 125 -150 amp fuse and ANL fuse holder.

i have a 4 guage wire kit. so ill ask around for a 125 amp fuse. what exactly does the darn fuse do anyways? i thought the amp had its own fuses.... guy was trying to sell me some sort of battery to put next to the amp lol i say ill pass bud thanks anyways~

yep only one amp "jl 1000.1"

Does it play for a while then blows. You may just need a bigger fuse.
