I have been thinking of a good, cheap system setup for my girlfiends car. Right now she has two blown 6 x 9's that were factory in her Dodge Neon.

Been looking around for a replacement and thought about replacing these with 2 Rockford Fosgate 6x9's (75W rms) and a Dual 340W Bridgeable 2-Channel MOSFET Amp (85W RMS (continuous) x 2 @ 2 ohms).

Any tweaking and or other suggestions would help. I'm not an expert at this stuff and need some ideas. Basically I'm just going to Best Buy to get the stuff. But would also like the system to have a good thump.

The Rockfords are $139 and the amp is $69.

Thanks in advance.

first off i wouldn't pay $139 for 6x9's when you can get a half-way decent set of components for that price. what i would do is get a set of 6.5 components and an adapter to mount them where you 6x9's are. thezeb.com i think still has a sale on cdt 6.5 components for $149 with free shipping so i would look into them instead of the 6x9's. you are really not going to get a big thump out of speakers that size but the componets will sound better because they are round and not oval.

for 6x9's i would recomend taking a look at the kenwood kfc-6969ie 's they sounds pretty "darn" good and are 90 bucks at bestbuy....check ebay and you can get them **** cheap...but watch the dealer....either them or some inifinities
