need help on a budget system

What I am looking for is a good system at a reasonable price. If it comes down to it I will try to install it myself. I am hoping to spend less than $1000. Heres what I am thinking about so far if you guys could help me out.

Head unit- An Alpine in the one hundred dollar range

Sub- Xtant x1244

Amp- I have no idea, I dont know anything about amps

Speakers- I need 4, but again im clueless

I have a 2002 nissan pathfinder could you guys plz help me?

hey thats my amp,/\ /\ /\, its an awsome amp, has real good power, mine really didnt have any scratches on it, works great. and a good sub for 250 is RE SX( have 1 12 hooked up to that viper and it wangs) http://www.reaudio.com also the SE is good for 185 shipped. a IA Li is good for real cheap http://www.incriminatoraudio.com. that viper amp will do good

i like the stup ^^^ gave..though i dont understand why u'd use that amp..

i just wanted to stay under his target price and i thought a decent 4 channel amp would be a good start--otherwise i would have picked a sub amp and a comp amp.i figured $700 would leave plenty for accesories and install if needed.

any cdt speakers, those alpine ones should do fine, or get some re comps or ed ones, there are lots

Ok here is what I am planning on getting as of now. If anyone has any other suggestions and changes I should make please tell me. I was also wondering if the Viper Amp would be able to power my speakers and my sub.
