i just got a kicker L7 in the trunk yesterday. and i am only give it 200W.

it is in a slot ported enclosure about 2.75 cu ft.

The weird thing is when my trunk is closed..the bass is so very small when i am at the driver seat. but if i open the trunk. the volume of the bass increases A LOT..

does anybody know why??..

and how to fix this problem?

its probably the installation....recheck where you placed your box and how your subs is installed.....also make sure that your gains and the like are set correctly on your amp and crossovers on your head unit and amp

Please tell me that the amp isn't powered off the light, is it?

Simple cancellation, try moving your box around the trunk facing different ways if possible.

to move the box around the trunk??..

the slot port is on the right side of the box..is the because i placed the slot at the wrong spot??..

when the trunk is open..the sub gets so loud...but..it just doesn't sound right when the trunk is closed.it sounds worse than my old 12W0..

Yes move the box around the trunk.

This is a VERY common problem for people to run into, the sub's waves are bouncing around the trunk and interacting all the time, if the box is placed right, the effect of the waves interacting will be minimal, if placed wrong, the waves will cancel eachother out and you will lose ALOT of SPL like you are.

That's why i have my subs firing directly inside the cab //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif, to prevent the whole trunk cancellation issue. To me putting subs in teh trunk is like taking your home sound system putting it in your closet and closing the door. I have always had my speakers inside the cab for that reason... that and i like to look at excursion pron.

My back seat is still there i just usually ride with the seats down... unless somebody wants to sit in the torture chamber and feel 2400 watts of speakers pounding them in teh back. But the subs are about 7 inches away from the back seat so that if i do have to ride with my seats up i don't have too much of a problem.
