I have a alpine mrp m450 monoblock.. basically 220 watts at 4 ohms and 400 rms at 2 ohms.. I keep blowing the rockford p2 because the amp pushes its limits.. i bought it from best buy and the warrentee just ran out.. i want a sub that will thump with out having to worry about blowing it.. What is a hard hitting sub to match to my amp for a good price.

What's a good price to you?

What size sub? (any constraints on things like mounting depth?)

Sealed or ported and what are your box specs?

What size Punch Stage 2 and which voice coil configuration?

If you're getting the Dual 2 Ohm version and wiring the coils in parallel to a 2 Ohm load then maybe it's b/c you're sending 400w to a 200w subwoofer that simply can't hang???

here is the deal best buy set up the whole thing for me it is a rockford p2 dual voice coil.. good price is around 200 or so.. it will be a ported box and it needs to be a 12

umm??? dual 4 you mean??!?!

even so... I think something is wrong with your setup... shouldn't be blowing them with 400 watts.
