Need Help. Low Budget system for my 16 year old....

Hey....New to the forum and have been researching quite a bit for a new system to put into my daughter's new car. This will be her first set of speakers so I am not looking to break the bank on a setup. Would like to get 2 12's, an amp to push them, and a wiring kit. Will build my own box and install everything myself. Budget is about $300. What would be the best setup to get for this type of budget?

I was looking at getting two of these to start off with, but don't know if there is something better out there for around the same price:

And then a decent amp that will push these.

Like I said, not trying to break the bank on her first system. Just trying to give her a little more bass. We will be running this off of the factory head unit as well.

soundqubed makes Great sounding subwoofers for a fair amount, she will be very pleased with them though, I've had a few pair myself

Id go with a single 15 instead of two 12s. Jbl Gt5 15 in a custom ported and get a 4 channel amp. aftermarket head unit with 3 pairs of 4 volt preouts. Stock head unit gotta go imo. This paves way to the future. You can use the 4 channel for door speakers later and get a dedicated sub amp later as well but for now the 4 channel will power them fine as well. Look into a ppi 520 ion

I agree. If you can up the budget to like 500, it will open your options more. 300 is gonna be pretty tough. Might I suggest a 3 ch amp (Massive Audio NX3) and a sub or two, a good quality used HU and the stock speakers can be replaced with good aftermarket brand ones. The 3 ch amp, 2 of those channels can split the power into 2, since it's 120x2. The sub ch is 800 watts into 1 ohm.

To break it down, that MA amp I was suggesting, I got mine 150 bucks new.

I got myself some Polk Audio speakers....about 110 bucks.

A DC Audio M38 8" sub, although any well rounded good brand sub(s) will do, got mine for about 135 bucks

My source unit is an older Alpine 9833 which I got off ebay for 55 bucks.

Will be installing the sub and amp in my ext cab s10 soon.
