1. He did not plug back in the dimmer switchhey guys i just did an install of a jensen headunit( one of those flipout ones) and i have run into a few problems after installation. its in a 2005 nissan frontier and here are all of the problems:
1. tail lights dont work. they only work when he hits the breaks but when he has his lights on the tail lights dont stay lit in the dark.
2. the dvd player wont work even in park. im guessing this has somethin to do with now grounding the pink wire? (btw it turns on for a second then says to pull the ebrake and you can still hear the sound)
3.some of the lights dont work. like the ones in the gear shifter and the ones on the heat and cold controls.
4. the airbag light keeps blinking on and off.
so if anyone could help me id really appreciate it.
thanks,
-eric
this was already addressed and in those vehicles even if the vehicle is not turned on unplugging the passenger airbag light on the left of the radio will throw a airbag code no matter what1. He did not plug back in the dimmer switch
2. On Jensen flip out you have to pulse the parking break wire in order to bypass it. Get a toggle swith and put the pink wire (parking break) on one side of the toggle and a ground wire on the other side of the toggle. You have to pulse it like follows. On, Off, On and it will work.
3. Same as number 1
4. He unpluged the airbag wire and turned on the car with it unpluged and he threw a code. He will have to go to the dealership and have it reset. Will cost him about $100 to do it.
this information helps out tremendously //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gifMy fusebox in my old civic was under the steering wheel...
For that 2nd one about pulsing in my friends van we installed a Jensen flip out that had to do the same thing BUT if you do a google search about bypassing it make sure to type in your model number there is a secret menu that can be assessed by a certain amount of keys being pressed just do that and you will never have to worry about pulsing anything ever again.1. yes o source you select radio, then you hit the tools button and on the remote you hit 5,4,3,2,1 and then you select parking break offFor that 2nd one about pulsing in my friends van we installed a Jensen flip out that had to do the same thing BUT if you do a google search about bypassing it make sure to type in your model number there is a secret menu that can be assessed by a certain amount of keys being pressed just do that and you will never have to worry about pulsing anything ever again.
That only works on Jensen and Phase Linear units. There ya go there is always a secret menu.
thanks for the airbag sequence it worked!!!i would disconnect your illumination wire, then check all the fuses in the car for the lights.
what model jensen? check my "ALL BYPASS" writeup in the security section of this forum
for the airbag light heres the reset
1)turn ignition switch from off to on
2)within 1 second after the aribag light starts to flash---immeditely turn the ignition off
3)after ignition is off, wait for more than 5 seconds
4)then repeat steps 1 through 3---do all steps 3 times
5)turn the ignition on, and the airbag sensor should go off and not flash anymore
