hey guys i just did an install of a jensen headunit( one of those flipout ones) and i have run into a few problems after installation. its in a 2005 nissan frontier and here are all of the problems:

1. tail lights dont work. they only work when he hits the breaks but when he has his lights on the tail lights dont stay lit in the dark.

2. the dvd player wont work even in park. im guessing this has somethin to do with now grounding the pink wire? (btw it turns on for a second then says to pull the ebrake and you can still hear the sound)

3.some of the lights dont work. like the ones in the gear shifter and the ones on the heat and cold controls.

4. the airbag light keeps blinking on and off.

so if anyone could help me id really appreciate it.

thanks,

-eric

as far as the light you may have hooked up some wrong wires maybe? did you use the nissan harness or did you just hardwire it?

for the dvd not playing yea its because the parking brake wire is not connected.

edit.. also did you check to make sure you connected every plug that you disconnected while taking it off?

i would disconnect your illumination wire, then check all the fuses in the car for the lights.

what model jensen? check my "ALL BYPASS" writeup in the security section of this forum

for the airbag light heres the reset

1)turn ignition switch from off to on

2)within 1 second after the aribag light starts to flash---immeditely turn the ignition off

3)after ignition is off, wait for more than 5 seconds

4)then repeat steps 1 through 3---do all steps 3 times

5)turn the ignition on, and the airbag sensor should go off and not flash anymore

thanks. any idea on the brake light?

and i thought it could be a fuse as well. its not. they are all fine

take the pink wire (parking brake wire) and connect it to the ground wire (black) and then ull be able to see the movie anytime in drive or in park.

and u blew a fuse probly on the rest of it.

not sure if your model needs it but some DVD players need a toggle switch on that E-brake wire. My clarion needed it, you have to pulse it with the switch every time you want to watch a video.
