So before I just played it by ear to set my gains and what not and I figured cause I didn't hear any distortion that it would be ok, but I ended up blowing my sub and I have a feeling it's because I wasn't careful with this. So I read that you are supposed to use the formula V = sqrt(PxR). My sub can safely handle about 1200 RMS and I have it hooked up to an audioque 1200d. It's a dual 2 ohm and its wired in parallel to have a 1 ohm load, so then for R I would use 1 correct? The sqrt of 1200 is about 34.6, so is that about the amount of volts I want to read off on the DMM? Also when should it read off this many volts? When the HU is set to 75% or 100%? Also I'm guessing I should use this same technique for my speakers and their input sensitivity? Sorry for stupid questions, I'm still pretty much a n00b at this. Me and my friend installed my system, but he knows much more than me haha (though it was both our first times installing a car audio system).

Anything else important to know about this?
