need help finding amp 2 push 15

hey

i have a alpine type r 15" specs are:

Impedance: 2 ohms

Dual Voice Coil: Yes

Peak Power Handling: 2000 watts

RMS Power Handling: 750 watts

the current amp thats pushing it is a audiobahn a8002t

specs are:

2x 400W RMS @ 2 Ohms

2x 200W RMS @ 4 Ohms

1x 800W RMS @ 4 Ohms

problem im having is that this amp keeps shutting off. Im not sure if its because this amp isnt enough wattage to push the speaker or its because the amp is just straight garbage.

alot of shops i talk to dont reccomend selling audiobahn amps because they always had a problem shutting off often in customer cars.

i need help finding a right wattage amp and better performing to replace this audiobahn. money is an issue.(lets say i have @150 to spend)

how man wattage should i be looking for? more then 800?

You are most likely pushing the amp too hard, sending it into protect mode..

$150 won't get you anything better than what you have, which is garbage as you said.

well i would only like to spend 150. but my max is 200 and if its needed i can add an extra 50.

so pretty much i would have 250 to spend on an amp. but im really lookin for the best bang for the buck because i still need to get a spec'd box built for this speaker

Go with a hifonics 1206d. You can get one for about 225 on ebay and then use the rest of the money to buy some wood and build your own box.
