Need help finding a good USB

I am looking to get a USB something like 4-8-16GB. I was wondering if there is any brands I should or shouldnt look into. I am on ebay and found some 16bg for like 25 bucks, its going to be only to put music on it and hook it up to my CD player for tunes. so does it matter or should i watch out and not buy the off brand will they really have 16gb of storage and work fine with my pioneer 6000ub

should I go with a sony, lexar, cruzer, or a kingston 8gb for around 20-25 bucks on ebay, or go with a 16gb like this for the same price just a off brand is it any good

Just not sure if I should use a kingston or grab a cheap one and have double the space, how many songs fit on that 8gb???

all usb drives are the same. just get the cheapest one. the only thing I can think that matters is if it lights up or not.

Sound better ? No ...
Last longer ? Yes ...

Transfer songs on and off the drive faster ? Yes ...

My recommendation = Sandisk Cruzer Contour

The newest Sony ones are decent (~15 MB/s transfer, decent build/design), but the older ones are poorly made (plastic, terrible slide design that breaks easily).

as jmac said they are basically all the same except for transfer speed and build quality....SLC>MLC btw

if you are going to transfer mp3's to it once, use it for playback and not going to carry it around much just get a cheap one

if you are going to transfer mp3's back and forth to it a lot and carry it in your pocket or on a keychain get a faster one with a decent case

of course if the pc you are using to transfer the files is not USB 2.0 then the speed thing won't matter at all. transfering 16gb of data through USB 1.1 will take a while....days

Will my laptop windows vista dell vostro 1500 or cd player pioneer 6000ub have a problem with any of these being they are 16gb's

ive used about 7 diffrent brands or so and they all work about the same

transfer speed was never really an issue

i have a sandisk cruzer titanium, love its, its really sturdy and you cant lose the cap

made of metal, alot better than the cheap plastic ones

i saw a 8gb on buy.com for like 21$
