first time getting into all of this car audio stuff and need to know a good amp to get. in the rears i have alpine type S 6x9 speakers, in the front i will buy the alpine 6 1/2 type R's. type S have 85rms max power. this is the amp i'm looking at right now JVC Mobile Entertainment \ 4 Channel Amplifier - KS-AX4504 \ Specifications

any advice? this is going in a 72 chevelle btw. any advice on what to look for is welcome. i know to look for RMS and 4 channel, that's about it. my budget isn't that high, just looking for a decent amp for those 4 speakers. here's a link to both speakers. Alpine Electronics of America, Inc.

if i went with the cadence is it possible to over power my speakers? mine have max 85rms and the cadence puts out 90rms @ 4 channels.

how does the JVC compare to those two? if i can get the jvc for 125 on amazon

i'm going to have best buy install everything, buy 8guage wire for everything and 4 for the power cord. once best buy is done with installation they adjust everything and tune it to where i like it with the music i listen to. i think i am going for the MB Qaurt DSC 480 amp. thanks for all of the help everyone

If you do the install yourself, you can buy better equipment. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Installing an amplifier is not difficult...

It looks like you won't have front/rear fade since your pre-out is only 1 set (If I'm reading the JVC specs right).

Not a big deal if you use center balance anyway.

Or you could use speaker level inputs for the Amp, which for you might be a better solution. Just a thought.

Disclaimer: I'm no expert, I'm here to learn.

Best buy is going to **** you, atleast try to find a reputable local shop.
Or reputable online sources. Watch out for shipping costs though (sometimes free shipping! sometimes outrageous). And keep in mind that sometimes these are offset by no sales tax depending on site, and State.

he was talking about the install

yeah i'm only having best buy install the amp and wire everything up. i'm not buying anything from them except wiring(maybe unless i can find cheaper elsewhere), will most likely buy everything from amazon or ebay. i would wire it myself if it wasn't my first time with car audio. plus they have a 1 year warrenty on anything that stops working. i can put the amp and front speakers in myself but i'll need them to tune it either way and wire it all up
