Need help fast - ground noise

i took a piece of 2awg and held it on the (-) of the comp amp and a solid ground in the trunk (leaving the original wire still hooked up), and that made 0 difference. then i tried it on the sub amp and i could hear a very very slight difference, but the noise was still really bad. then i tried swithing around the rca's on the comp amp and the only thing that stopped the noise was when no rca's were plugged in. would that rule out the amp's ground as being bad?

im considering the possibility of this being the pioneer ground loop problem. however i thought that was a problem from the factory not something that spontaneously happens 2 years after getting the HU. but anyways, i dont have them tools to get the HU out so imma hafta take apart my dash. i sure as hell aint doing that tonight because the bar awaits. but i did try running a piece of wire from the chassis to the grounds of the rca's by the amp and i heard a very very slight change in sound, nothing major again...

Well do you get the noise with the RCA's disconnected? If so then it's not the amp ground.

Have you tried grounding your RCAs? I had to do that recently with my Pioneer HU I just bought due to a small short that caused horrible ground noise.

like i mentioned above, i tried holding a wire to them at the amp, but it really didnt do anything. i think im going to try behind the HU now and pray that this helps. because if it dont, i dunno wtf the problem could be.

tried the pioneer ground loop trick and that appears to be the issue lol. D*MN pioneers!!! it took away like 95% of the sound, but theres a tad more i can still hear. when i get more time im gonna run a fat ground all the way back to the bat and also ground the front and sub rca's.

also i tried grounding the rca's to the black wire but it didnt work veyr well. any ideas why?
