I am currently looking for a new set-up. I've had at least 3 set-ups in the past 9 years, but the only one I liked was my first, guess it was because it was my cherry popper....LOL

1st set-up 2002-2004

Sony head unit

2 rockford fosgate 10'' hx subs

lighting audio amp

2nd set-up 2007-2008

Alpine head unit

2 JBL grand touring 12'' subs

JBL mono amp

(this one ******)

3rd set-up 2008-2009

Pioneer head unit

2 Kenwood exceleron 12'' subs

Kenwood exceleron amp

(blew the subs 2 times)

NOW, i have a Pioneer DEH-14UB head unit, and I'm looking at 2 different subs that I want to get but don't know which one would suit me better as a SPL fanatic. I have a 2001 Toyota Tacoma single cab, the bed has a canopy on it so it would be back there, access window will be open at times but most of the time closed until I can do some modifications, or when I get a car I will transfer the subs and stuff into the car.

Two choices I'm looking at.

(1) Alphasonik PSW412E - 12'' 500 watts RMS

(2) Pineer TS-W308D$ - 12'' 400 watts RMS Champion Pro series

Please help me on this, I'm not a novice, but I've never heard either one of these subs in person, only online and we all know the sound online won't compare for **** in person. Thanks in advanced.

i wouldnt touch neither of them. whats you budget, what are looking for in terms of output? sq, sql, spl? some brands to look into are Incriminator audio, dc audio, ascendent audio, american bass, b2 audio, fi audio, ssa audio, obsidian audio, rd audio, atomic audio, tc sounds. ect ect

200$ is my budget, and I can go 15'' if needed.

audiobaun-I had the 1000w exceleron amp but my set up was in a small eclipse spyder which is probably why the subs blew due to pressure.

No and NO that amp is a solid 700 or so amp not even sure how low its stable to to lazy to look. U did not blow ur subs due to pressure u blew them cause u prob clipped them to death trying to get more out of that amp then it ca produce.. Is amp a 2 -4 or mono amp..

Reason why I am asking,is to find out if that amp is 2ohm,or 1ohm stable in mono mode,in return, can give everyone an idea of what subs to recommend for the proper ohm load to get the best performance possible from your amp,and subs chosen/recommended:)

Ok,so 1ohm stable, are you wanting a pair of subs, or just a single sub??$200 margin will get you a good single sub
Audio the thing is his current amp may be just as good if not better then the cheapo line of Hifi.. But for some reason he want say the model number changing amps want fix the issue with blowing subs..
