NETGEAR POWERLINE

Dont know much about this powerline stuff? So just plug in and play? I know you have to have a router still right?

Ok if I wanted to play Ps3 online (Netgear and Linksys have usb adapters) I would have to buy a bridge ? or what would I have to buy that would pick up the wirless signal that has a lan plug in the back so I could play online?

Dont forget to look at Overview of products links go to Sepcs Thanks for you alls help

P.S. The router is going to be in the office room and my PS3 and PC will be in my room... The Adapters are USB connected so how would I get the PS3 to get connected? I need something that will pick up the signal from the router (Like an adapter) but with ethernet/LAN plug on it?? is it called a bridge?

Also someone said this "After reading on Wiki, 802.11n isnt yet finalized till november 2008, but there are products with it now that work. But honeslty, 248mbits on wireless isnt too bad, but still sucks on security, but of course there are ways to stop unwanted people...well, the ones who dont know much about wireless." Whats he talking bout? Wireless N no good yet? Should I just go with version beofre that "G"? I thought it was backwards compatible with both g and b?....

If you have any suggestions for what im trying to accomplish plz feel free to LMK

I have a 360 but they work the same way. I've had the best luck with linksys equipment and horrible luck with netgear stuff, had to reset the router almost everyday which is a real pain in the butt. I haven't used the wireless n, i use the linksys wrt54g or whatever it is. you'll need a wireless adapter for your pc to send the signal to your router, something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833124069. You need something like this for your ps3, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16873999102. Microsoft makes one just for the 360, not sure if sony for the ps3 or not. How far of a distance is your router going to be from your pc and game console? If it's not really very far you'd be better off with just sticking with the G technology. Works fine and is much cheaper and the bugs are already worked of out it. I just through this together cause i have to get back to work. Newegg is where i buy all my pc related stuff from. Awesome pricing, fast shipping and excellent customer service. Zipzoomfly is also a good company to order from.

ive had good luck with linksys, not so good with netgear also. Have a wrt54g router, tryed netgear pci cards, havent had good luck, switched to linksys card and works great. my girl is also setup with linksys router and pci card. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/peace.gif.2db28b618ed8d1964ebbe2f5021d2c39.gif

I've got that same linksys router.

STILL can't get online with the laptop (got it a few months back), it'll partially connect and have the yellow triangle over the icon in the tray. Vista always give some BS excuse when I go "diagnose and repair" (It'll say a wires unplugged or something).

Looks cool though
