Need help deciding on car

So my friend is looking to get rid of his 90 ***** Am. He said he'd give it to me cheap because he needs cash for a down payment on a small fuel efficient car for college. I can have it for $3500. He's been trying to sell it for a wile now and really wants it gone. It has a new built ******, new rear end, alum drive shaft and a chiped 94 LT1 with roughly 70k on it. I like the car, and want something with power, but it will need new paint (no rust yet) and some work. Doors sag, and the LT1 comp is ghetto rigged sitting on the passenger floor board. Also engine bay is a mess of wires strapped every which way, both headlights need new gears and the speedo and tach don't work. The A/C system won't hold freon for 10 min, (huge leak at the compressor). Paint is in OK condition now but the wrong primer was used so its all going to have to come off eventually. The tires are in great shape, we swapped 4th gen leather seats in it, and they are in A+ condition. Has new shocks springs, brakes alt and battery. I figure with the condition of my Taurus, I could give it to my bro to use a daily for school and I could make the T/A my new project/daily car. Don't get me wrong, it's a project but I think I can handle it. It's all pretty minor stuff.

$3500 seems high for a 90 ***** am to me. Also think if he has been trying to sell it for a while there is probably a reason he has not sold it with it most likely it being that he is asking too much.

Also do you meet the prerequisites of owning a TA? Do you have a mullet? Do you live in a trailer park? Is your hoe missing at least 2 teeth?
