Need help deciding on a amp for 2 Alpine SWR1243D

IMO..If you want to run the 1ohm loads, just be prepaired to shell out some cash to get your electrical system to reach the rms goal of 14.4v to get out of that amp,or stick to 2ohms and stay within budget, and get more out if the amp.Everyones that is going to 1ohms load, as you can read all over this forum, that openining up the wallet seems the thing to do,getting the HO alt, 2-3batteries, 0ga wire, and thats just a rediculous money pit.Ya buy that 1ohm 1000 watt amp,stable?1000watts?Na maybe 1/2 the wattage, and within electrical Starvation.Everone needs 1000 watt amp, but more than50%, may be getting 1/2 of the wattage,Go 2ohms 500watts, and retrieve more?? IMO.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/santa.gif.e1ec9cf2e0a0dd232ad35aa594a126d0.gif

That's my gut feeling too. A lot of amplifier reviews I have seen show that amplifier efficiency drops with the impedance is reduced. A good class D amplifier can have above 80-85 efficiency at maximum rated output with 4ohm speaker, but around 75% with 2ohm speaker. I assume with 1ohm, it could drop to 70% or less. I assume that a lot of people don't have any issues running at 1ohm because they have a good electrical system or they don't need to use the maximum rated wattage.
