Its a Badd A s s amp,and its worth the asking price.I paid like $600 shipped,and used it on 2 heavy 1000rms tens, and sounded awsome.FAN/ Dual Fan cooled also.Thanks Tony

Boston Acoustics GTA-1000m. 1000watts into 2ohm impedance, online price sometimes under $300. That's about right amount of wattage for 2 Type-Rs.

Are you sure you wanna buy SWR1243D (dual 4ohm) instead of SWR1223D (dual 2ohm)? Two SWR1223D can be wired for final load of 2ohms or 8ohms. Two SWR1243Ds can be wired for 1ohm or 4ohm. The stability of many amplifiers powering 1ohm loads is questionable, even if rated for 1ohm..

A dual 2ohm subwoofer with voice coils wired in series, presents a 4ohm impedance. Now, if you take two subs with each wired for 4ohm load, and wire them together to the same channel in parallel, the final impedance will be 2ohms. The good amplifiers in theory should put out twice as much power with 2ohm load, compared to 4ohms, and twice as much with 1ohm load compared to 2ohms. Having said that, a lot of amplifier are not even rated for 1ohm load, and those that are rated do not necessarily run stable, at least some of the cheap ones. With two subs I personally would aim for final 2ohm load, unless I have an amplifier that's only stable at 4ohms (when two channels are bridged, they're usually rated for 4ohm impedance or higher only).

Dual 4 is fine. 1 ohm load is fine.

I can't say what amp to get for those subs, but if an amplifier shows an RMS wattage for 1 ohm(for the most part), it is stable at 1 ohm. If it wasn't, there would be a lot more returns, eventually a recall, and then a change made saying that the amp is only stable to 2.
