Need Help Chosing an amp

[Chris' Question]

I have 1 JBL W12GTI MKII sub in a slot ported box wired in parallel so I can achieve a 3 ohm load. It is rated 700 w rms 4000 peak. My question is what amp should I use to drive it? My budget is $300.00-$600.00 (ebay or amazon) prices. Iv'e been looking at the Soundstream RUB1.2500D, JL Slash 1000/1v2, Alpine MRX M-100 etc.. I've been told form others that this sub can handle 1000-1200 watts rms all day. PLEASE recommend a good quality amp for this sub, even if you have an amp that I didn't mention. I know there are a lot of amp manufactures out there. Thank You.

out of the 3 you posted i'd go with the alpine ,the jl wants too much power ,not impressed with the new rubicons,the alpines are very efficient ,other wise you might look at some bigger amps to get the power you want ,like dc ,sundown,incriminator,just to name a couple . this one would be good for you too http://www.caraudio.com/forums/amplifier-classifieds/525376-fs-memphis-mcd4kw-almost-mint-condition-%24550-shipped.html

Alpines PDX amps are nice. They do the same power at both 2- and 4-ohms.
