Need help choosing subs

I am looking for a new pair of 12's and can't decide between Obsidian Audio 12's or the Skar audio vvx 12's. I was hoping that some of you had experience with these subs and could chime in about which is better bang for the buck. They will be powered by a MB quart q1.1500d and I am looking for the best mix of spl and sq. I had 2 AQ sdc 12's on a AQ 1200, that hit mid 140's, I am looking for the same loudness just better sound. I am open to other suggestions but my budget is $350

Skar it up, but u can't go wrong with either ur looking at. Personally id get 2 re se's, I love their sound.

I must agree I love the sound of the SE's also but they are not in my budget. Also why do you say Skar over obsidian?

What size box/tuning were the old AQ's in?

box was 4.5 cubes tuned to 38hz. I don't remember the dimensions or port area.

they are really very close. you won't a significant difference in sound between the two. but it depends on the box. i had a OA 12 for a little bit but i cant vouch on its performance becuase the box it was in was not good.
