need help choosing sub

i only have around 500 to spend for either one sub or two

12 inch Digital Design 3500e- looks to be something i could put a little more money into but has a RMS of 1200 so should i get two of these subs over the type-rs or one 15 btl?? also should i buy a diffrent amp or run the hk i dont want to spend the money on these and then blow them.

i see that thing looks sexy. theres one on ebay for $400 plus 63 shipped and he says I got third place at the 2000 Iasca finals in Oklahoma using one of these 15's and 2 Earthquake Ph-d2's hitting over 155 db's can i get one cheaper or is that a good deal
