Need help choosing an amp...

Ok so I am somewhat new to car audio, I have always had others help me when just putting in a deck or other small things. But now I am planning on buying an Alpine 15" Type R, and it comes in either 4 or 2 ohm. I don't understand the difference in ohms and that confuses me as to what amp to buy... So if you could, just tell me what you believe is the best setup I could have with either a 2 or 4 ohm Type R... Thanks

If you get a dual 2, you have more of a choice when it comes to amps and power. Here's your options for wiring:

DVC 2 ohm: 1 ohm or 4 ohm

DVC 4 ohm: 2 ohm or 8 ohm

Get a DVC 2 ohm and get a Sundown 1500D.

hey man! as for choosing an amp sundown is one of the better names you can go with or you can also go with somehting like a orion 1200d, or a kicker kx 1200.1, or even a orion 600d (600 rms at 1ohm) if i rember corectly the 15inch takes is it 750 rms and the 600d would work okay but not the best.

but if you are into sundown maybe you should get a 1000d amp they are quite nice! (1000rms at 1ohm i believe)

yes the sub has 750 rms, so I would kinda like to get the best for the sub with something a little more than 650... any other suggestions?

i don't know much about us amp but that is what i found, i think they are cheaper end amps but like i say i don't know much about them. other ppl would have better suggestions!

actualy have you looked into boss? they are very cheap amps but you get what you pay for

take a look on ebay for boss amps cheap but meh!

250 maybe?... and i don't know if i should go with 2 or 4 i'm not that experienced with car audio so i don't know which to choose... whichever will call for a cheaper amp I guess, since the 2 and 4 are the same price
