Okay, so I am in the process of undertaking my build, got the power situation delt with, h/o alt installed and big three installed, no it's time to pick a woofer. My goal is simple I want to hit stupid low and move a wang load of air, problem is that I'm doing it in a mid sized sedan with folding seats... Thinking of either running 2 moderately powerful 18s in maybe 8-9 cubes at a really low tuning on 2 hifonics brx2400.1 s strapped at 2 ohms, or the same amps on one beefy 18, I'm open to other options however I just want ridiculous lows for under 400 a woofer, what would you suggest other than buying a suburban?

you can get 2 incriminator death penalty 18s for 411$ a piece they will eat those brutus alive. sound good doing it too. there on the black and blue special right now too

With the Black & Blue sale going on right now, it's a perfect time to score yourself some Incriminator Audio Death Row 18s, but IA recommends something around 6.5 cubes EACH. Honestly, a single Death Row 18 and a single BRX2400.1 is MORE than enough. Enclosure is what really seals the deal here and adding a second one while strapping? You better have damn good electrical to support it or you won't be getting anywhere near the power you think you are.

If it were me, I'd say a single DR 18", 8 cubes tuned to 32-33 Hz, and ONE of the Hifonics amps and you'll be a happy camper.

And they'll choke on the enclosure he's trying to put them in. IA doesn't recommend running them sealed and that's what he'd have to do given his volume requirements.

why not 2 15s? 2 18s would have a lot of cone area but thats pretty useless if the sub's struggling for air. It'll put you in the Negative bass zone where you spend more money and get even less bang.
Would still be on the bottom end of recommended enclosure size. IA suggests 3 cubes each at a minimum for the 15" DP and that doesn't take into account port displacements. Death Row 15s at 3.25 cubes each would be closer, though still pushing it. Same with the LIs.

Shit, bud, I guess you could go DC since they tend to like smaller enclosures and more port. But I don't know where pricing lies for the Level 4

Subwoofers, Droppin HZ Car Audio Tada!!! DC Sub Pricing and Catalogs Galore!

Okay based on input, 2 15s or 1 18, those are my two best options?
I would suggest a single 18" ( like the Death Penalty) and max out box size based on your available dimensions to improve efficiency. A 32-33 Hz tuning should allow you to keep frequency response well into where your front stage takes over and still dig into the mid (maybe low) 20s.

With a pair of 15s, you do get a cone area advantage, but if you take into account efficiency loss by having a smaller enclosure, may not see as much of an improvement. Still, it should be doable in your ride.

If lows are what you want, do one good quality 15 in a quarter wave t-line. You'll get considerable output for a full octave below driver Fs in a line so with a beefy 15 with an Fs around 34 you're going to be hitting hard all the way down to the low 20s. And, you can do it in about 9 cubes.

EDIT: Not to mention, a 15 in a t-line will shatter all of the myths that subs 15" and larger can't do SQ and can't blend with your front stage. They **** sure can and, they can do it well... in the right box.
