good read

thanks man

Run 3-ways.

Horns + 6.5" midrange + 10" midbass.

Now that's a real frontstage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif
thats an insane amount of work, i did initially want to run a way system, but recently changed my mind due to the extra work and extra money without a big benefit

On a more serious note, a lot of the ID guys are talking about how well the new XS series 6.5" and 6x9's mate with horns. Supposed to have pretty good midbass, with the 6x9 outdisplacing a lot of 8" mids.
Something to consider.

That or doing a 3-way with a 6.5" midbass and HAT Legita 8.
xs series?

Mind linking me?

this a cheap solution, even though you said price isnt an point ot ya here, it should perform pretty well from ehat Ive found

or do a quad of dayton rs225"s with the horns

thats a my plan anyways lol

Can the horns play low enough? The Daytons aren't know to play midrange frequencies very well, even the 7 needs a tweeter than can play down to about 2k hz w/o issues.

I'd go with the Peerless Exclusives, if it were me. I'm using the 7" HDS, it's like 90% of the Exclusives, at almost half the price. Exclusives offer the phase plug and probably a bit more copper in the motor.

Basically, I LOVE my HDS mids, and if the Exclusives are supposed to be better, at 85 a piece I'd say it's a steal.

man i just bought four Whip Audio 8" mids..... they sound GOOD!!!!!

range is 60hz-6khz

Horns can play lower than pretty much any tweeter on the market.

With a steep slope, ~800hz for the CD1's is a pretty safe xover point.

CD2's can go lower.......

well from what i heard just hooking them up to a home stereo, with about 15-20 watts max they sounded dang good!

i will be able to tell more when i get them installed with 100 watts on them and the crossover...

I find all the buzz about these interesting since the one time I heard them, I wasn't overly impressed.
I presume the install/tuning was the "issue".........
hmm, whose car did you hear those in? I'll be trying those along with my idq's and sls 8's, i'll report in when I can.

the mids were in Tommy Mckinnie's truck ( ho problems )

you should be able to see some pics, and vids online.

try youtube, type in Ho problems, or king of bass and there should be 3-4 vids of him.....
