Hi im super new to this whole thing i have just purchased 2 TS-SW1241D 12" Shallow Series from pioneer and am needing an amp most likely 2 now the rms is 350 so i am in the understanding that i need to match that to the rms of what ever amp i buy or have it a little less? what kind of amp should i get i listen to mainly rap and electro. and what would be the best way to set them up???

thank you for your help

regardless of the music you listen too, you should try to match the rms wattage as close as possible.

the question is how much do you want to spend.

have you taken a look on eBay

yeah ill most likely be buying off ebay they seem to have a lot of good deals i would like them to be under $300 just because i have to pay duty and shipping.

is there any way that i could connect the 2 subs together so that it was like it is only one sub would that bring the rms up to 700 or would it stay 350. if it did could i get away with getting a PDX-1.600 from alpine it has an rms of 600w at 4 ohms

Yes, you can wire both the subs in a way to use only one amp. Each sub will still be 350 watts but your amp will need to push 700 watts RMS.

When I looked up the subs you mentioned I found out they are single voice coil subs at 4 ohms.

If you wire these subs in parallel you will get a final 2 ohm load.

parallel would be like...

You have a Class D mono amp. I will use the kicker ZX750.1 as an example. If you have this amp, you would take each sub and connect the wires to the terminals. Then take the Positive wire from each sub and put them both into the positive terminal on the amp. And then the negative wires both into the negative terminal.

This site can show you with visually.

So what you need is an Amp that can do around 700Watts RMS at 2 ohm.

That would be the amp i recommend to you. I've never had a problem with kickers amps. They are solid and generally underrated. Check around on ebay for it. prob get it for less. And if you have a local cash converters check them out too. I have gotten some good amps there for good prices. My friend got his 750.1 for $130.
